About us

WilKing Kennels  - Our Beginning

Our journey started back in 1979 when our first Boxer Maurgen (Jimarlyn's Princess of Portia) came to live with us and our two daughters, Jillian and Rebecca. When our Maurgen  passed away in 1990 our daughter convinced us to take a drive to a breeder in Georgetown, Ontario just to have a look. Glencotta's Toreador 'Torre' a Plain Brindle Male joined our family that day and became our first Canadian Champion and Sire of our first litter. Several months later Glencotta's Santana 'Tana' became a member of our family and also Torre's best friend.

Our Breeding Program
In January 1993 we moved to the Province of Alberta and bought a home in the country. Our love of Boxers had only grown over the years and we decided to start a breeding program. Santana had been spayed when she came to us, so in July of 1994, our flashy brindle female ,Glencotta's Lucie In The Sky arrived.  Lucie' obtained her Canadian Championship, passed all her health tests and settled down to become a very good mother. The following pages on our website attest to her strong ability to pass on her genes. She became a Dam of Merit with her second litter.
We only breed our Dam’s twice, so after Lucie’s second litter, Wanci joined our family in September 2003 from a kennel in Minnesota.  Her health tests, at 2 yrs. of age, were not what we expected and we felt her unfit to breed. She was spayed and now lives with our grandsons.
In August 2005, Tori joined our family from the same kennel as Lucie.  She became our brood bitch and has given us one litter of beautiful puppies, with another on the way.
